Thank you for visiting our webpage. I wanted to share with you a little about who we are, and our philosophy at Caliber Land.

Caliber Land is a subsidiary of Landvest LLC, a Texas Limited Liability Company. We are a family owned and operated real estate investment firm (not a broker or an agent) focusing on making land ownership easy and affordable. We carefully seek out scenic parcels of land that offer the attributes we know our buyers will appreciate. Whether it is a retirement dream with mountain views, or a fun weekend place near a creek to fish, resort style living, or just a place to play with your off road vehicles, we’ve got you covered. We’ve been in real estate business for over 10 years, mostly focusing on rental homes, but our love of nature and raw land refocused us towards this area. If we don’t currently have something to fit your needs, we’ll seek to acquire it for you - at an affordable price. Our minimal overhead allows us the opportunity to make that happen for you.

A little background: My name is Maria Hughes but I’ve gone by “Lynn” all my life. I’m a graduate of the University of North Texas with BA degree in English and a minor in Chemistry. In 1995 I married my college sweetheart and together we have 3 amazing children. My husband has long enjoyed a successful carrier as an HR executive. He is my best friend and true life partner in all aspects.

After college graduation, I was blessed to build a very successful career as an aviation insurance executive. I grew up in an aviation family and got to spend the majority of my childhood watching sunsets on a beautiful piece of Texas land with a grass airstrip and a hangar full of antique aircraft. My love of airplanes led me to change my pre-med college plans to focus on business aviation. In the 15+ years I spent brokering insurance for corporate jets, I built a book of business totaling over $2.5 million in annual premium revenues. Along the way, I met many memorable people, some of whom became good friends. My book of business included large charter fleets, 2 NFL team owners, a famous author, two reality TV-stars, a pro-golfer, countless CEOs, and a large book of important international clients. I truly cherished my career, and I firmly believe my unparalleled dedication and service to my clients is what made me successful. Shortly after the birth of my 3rd child, however, I knew it was time to refocus my priorities, and I made the difficult decision to slow life down and enjoy my blessings, but I kept active with my rent houses and enjoyed the “flipping” process: taking something unwanted and unappreciated and turning it into a beautiful house someone could call “home”.

My philosophy has never changed: Being ethical is no.1, customer service is paramount, and always strive to make things work to the benefit of my customer. I look forward to putting this philosophy to work for you in helping you acquire a beautiful piece of land to call your own.
